It’s important to give puppies a whole host of different experiences in the very beginning, so they know what to expect throughout their lifetime and can adjust accordingly. In general, puppies that have been exposed to many different stimuli early on, have gone on to become more accepting of new situations and activities. The puppies’ first road trip is one of the new situations we exposed CoCo’s pups to, so they could determine that riding in the car was at least not scary. This litter of pups was a bit of a learning curve for us, and it’s shown us what we need to work on and what we need to keep doing.
Coco is a Foster dog from easternherdingdogrescue.org. CoCo needed a safe place to whelp and care for her pups until they reach adoption age, so we are glad to participate. Her 7 “CoCo pups” were born on 3/27 and 3/28.
